Traveling with Kids?! This is FOR YOU!
Here are a few tips to make navigating through the airport with kiddos easy as 1 2 3 !!
1.) Plan ahead – Arrive to the airport early. Give yourself extra time to shuttle, check in bags, grab food & take a bathroom break before boarding. Rushing sucks, but rushing WITH KIDS is RIDICULOUS!
2.) If available, use the curbside check in. Lighten up your check in process, literally! Get rid of the bags so that you’re only focused on getting your family through security upon walking in to the airport.
3.) LOAD UP THOSE BACKPACKS! How many times have you purchased the ridiculously priced airport food and snacks only for your little picky eaters to waste it?! Load up their jacket, favorite snacks, electronics and an empty water bottle! The water bottle is CLUTCH in that it prevents unnecessary spills in both the terminal and in flight!
4.) Let the kids BE KIDS! They will want to play, they may be a little loud and you may be concerned with all of the attention it grabs. So what!! They are excited about the trip and that is the way their little bodies show it! We are all here for a good time!
5.) Make sure their electronics are fully charged and loaded with their favorite games and shows. Not all airlines offer free in-flight entertainment so it is important to have a back up plan. DON’T FORGET THOSE HEADPHONES!!
6.) Let the kids help. If there are lighter rolling bags or even a sign or symbol they can help look out for, THEY LOVE IT. Travel is fun, but it is also a teaching moment. Teach your kids about traveling through experience and involvement!
7.) Capture the moments and have fun! It a blessing to be able to fly with your kids. Soak it in and create those core memories.
