Zhayynn, a professional landscape architect from southern Chennai, said he was on a safari when he was startled to spot the bird – an Indian scops owl perfectly hiding.

Initially, it looks like a picture of a tree but at closer look, the ‘master of the camouflage’ can be spotted perfectly blending itself.

He added: ‘While on safari, my guide stopped the vehicle and asked me to see if I could spot anything on the tree.

‘At first glance there seemed to be nothing of interest, but on closer inspection the brilliantly camouflaged owl was revealed, hiding in plain sight.’

The Indian scops owl is a tiny species of owl, measuring less than 10 inches, that resides in South Asia.

Like most species of owl, the Indian scops is nocturnal. It uses its natural camouflage to remain hidden during the day-time, before hunting for insects to feed on during the night.
