What Kazakhstan is REALLY Like | Almaty Travel Vlog

After heading out to see the barren deserts, sand dunes, Mosques and more – our travels through the Almaty region in Kazakhstan continues.

And like that a day later we leave flat lands to go and explore beautiful mountains and lakes covered in pine trees – this country is honestly so diverse.

First stop we headed out to Moon Canyon which is known as the Grand Canyon of Central Asia. After lunch at a locals house in Saty we started our journey out to see the lakes…but not using any car – an old Soviet style jeep.

We were blown away at the beauty of Kaindy Lake and its interesting story of having petrified dead trees in it’s turquoise waters.

Our final stop for the day was Kolsai lakes to make camp for a couple of nights.

Thanks to Open Forum Kazakhstan for partnering with us on this series.
