Lots of items are prohibited by airport security – everyone knows flammable materials and sharp objects are not allowed.
But there are some things you might not even realise are banned.
During the festive season, there are even some Christmas items that could get you stopped by airport security if they’re found in your luggage – and one thing in particular might surprise you.
Brits travelling abroad for Christmas are being stopped at security for carrying Christmas puddings.
Many travellers pack festive foods to share with their loved ones when going abroad.
For instance, you might have mince pies, Christmas puddings, or cured meats in your luggage.
But these might violate import rules in places where meat and dairy products are heavily restricted.
Christmas pudding containing suet (a type of animal fat) is not allowed to be taken into the EU from the UK due to regulations on meat products.

Similarly, cheese-based treats or anything containing unprocessed dairy, such as certain rich Christmas chocolates, might also be confiscated at customs, according to travel experts at eShores.
Other items that may not be allowed include Christmas crackers.
Some airlines may let you bring a sealed box of Christmas crackers on board.
But since they contain a tiny sprinkle of gunpowder, some airlines will ask you to pop them into your checked luggage instead.
Make sure to do your research before you fly as some airlines don’t allow them in hand luggage or hold luggage.
New rules regarding bringing food into the UK came into force recently.
It was reported in April that British travellers returning from Europe are now banned from bringing meat and dairy products into the country under strict new rules introduced by the Government.
The restrictions, which came into force on April 12, mean popular items such as cheese, butter, cured meats and even ham and cheese sandwiches are no longer allowed to be brought into Great Britain from EU or EEA countries.

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that other items are subject to restrictions and checks while travelling.
Earlier this year, an airport baggage handler revealed the unusual item that you should definitely leave outside of your luggage.
A popular sweet treat, marzipan might seem like an innocent item to pack for a holiday.
But it could get you in trouble – as it has the same density as some explosives, so your bag will be removed and you’ll be called from the plane for a bag search.
