Fukuoka Travel VLOG | Ohori Park, Canal City

In this travel vlog I head to Fukuoka City located on Japan’s southernmost island (aside from Okinawa) and spend a few days with my friend Bea (bady on tiktok). Once I arrive it’s only a quick 15-minute train ride to Tenjin where I meet up with Bea and we head to Shin Shin ramen (3 Chome-2-19 Tenjin, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka). It’s similar to Ichiran but I much prefer Shin Shin’s broth over Ichiran for some reason.

Day 1 in Fukuoka
The next day Bea and I head to Stock (6-17 Nishinakasu, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka), a popular bakery just a few minutes from our hotel. It’s somewhere in between Tenjin and Nakasu. From there we walk to Kushida Shrine and Tochoji Temple which are almost parallel to one another. For lunch we eat at Kakuuchi Fukutaro (Fukuoka, Chuo Ward, Watanabedori, 5 Chome−25−18 天神テルラビル 3F) which is a famous spot for its Mentaiko Lunch Sets (at 1,000 yen)! Since it was still quite hot we decide to pass some time at a free co-working space at a nearby mall (Fukuoka, Chuo Ward, Tenjin, 2 Chome−10−3 VIORO 7F) then we head to Ohori Park (1 Ohorikoen, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka). It was the perfect place to spend golden hour and see locals go about their daily routines walking dogs, jogging and cycling. Then we head for Momochi Beach/Fukuoka Tower (2 Chome-3-26 Momochihama, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka) by bus and spend the sunset sitting by the shore eating icecream. At night we wanted to try eating at a yatai (outdoor food stalls) which Fukuoka is famous for. Coincidentally we sat beside a news reporter/director who interviewed us about our stay Fukuoka (unfortunately it won’t show in Kanto where Tokyo is).

A half-day trip from Fukuoka
For our last day we went to Dazaifu Tenmangu (a 45-minute bus ride from Hakata Station) and the Kyushu National Museum next door (4 Chome-7-2 Ishizaka, Dazaifu, Fukuoka). It was an easy bus ride and we got to do and see everything we wanted to.
When we got back to Hakata Station Bea and I said our goodbyes as she had to go back to Itoshima for an event. I took it upon myself to explore the places near my hostel HafH (Fukuoka, Hakata Ward, Gionmachi, 8−13 第一プリンスビル 1F).

I went to the free viewing deck from Hakata Port Tower (Fukuoka, Hakata Ward, Chikkohonmachi, 14−1 博多ポートタワー), Asian Art Museum (Fukuoka, Hakata Ward, Shimokawabatamachi, 3−1 7・8F Riverain-Center Bld) and Canal City (1 Chome-2 Sumiyoshi, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka).

Overall I enjoyed my trip to Fukuoka, I think it was just enough time to see the highlights without tiring myself out. I hope you guys enjoyed this video and I’ll see you next week! 🙂
