A comic has revealed how she exacted revenge on a fellow passenger who refused to switch seats to let her sit next to her own children – simply by leaving the woman to care for her kids without any assistance.
Cindy Arena, from New York, took to TikTok to add yet another layer to the ongoing debate about airplane etiquette and seat swaps, revealing how she turned the tables on a passenger who refused to give up her place on the plane to allow the comic to join her young children.
She explained that she had not been assigned seats near her kids – then aged six and four – and so asked a woman to swap.
But, after the unnamed passenger refused, the performer said that it was not long before looking after someone else’s children proved to be too much.
Other social media users were left divided as they flooded to the comments to share their thoughts – but whose side are you on?

‘Like if you don’t have a seat next to your kids should the person that is sitting next to your children move so you can sit with them – like someone’s actually asking this question.’
After a dramatic pause, she Cindy says: ‘No. Let them stay with your kids. This has happened to me.
‘The woman refused to get up. She refused and my two children at the time were like four and six.
‘Then I said okay no problem I’m not going to argue and I went to the back of the plane and sat in my assigned seat because she wouldn’t give hers up.
