What to know when visiting the best beaches this summer

Looking for beaches? Nearly 6,000 miles of coastline fringe Mexico on its east, west and south, stretching from the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortéz.

With white sand beaches sweeping ancient Mayan ruins and sunken mangrove forests along these sun-splashed shores, Mexico has some of the most sought-after beaches in the world. And did I mention the translucent waters of the Caribbean are a mecca for divers and snorkelers?

If you’re looking to visit, Mexico’s major international airports are in Cancún, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. And there are some nearby beaches where you can bury your toes in the sand.
